This DIY kit is comes with all the materials needed to make a high quality full tang knife by hand and simple instructions.
Included in the kit are:
One profiled bar of 1084 high carbon tool steel-Choice of patterns
Hardwood handle scales-Choice of Walnut, Osage or Purpleheart
Corby bolts for attaching handles
Simple instructions
You will need;
Vise
Files or grinder
Drill and bits
Pliers/tongs
A charcoal grill or similar heat source
A gallon (min.) of oil Canola, peanut, mineral etc.
An oven
Epoxy
Sandpaper
Tung or linseed oil finish
If heat treating is not possible, I will do it for a $25 charge which includes;
Normalizing, thermocycling, hardening and tempering.
