This DIY kit is comes with all the materials needed to make a high quality knife by hand and simple instructions.

Included in the kit are:

One bar of 1084 high carbon tool steel approx. (7×1.25x.156)

Hardwood handle scales- Choice of walnut, Osage or Purpleheart

Corby bolts for attaching handles OR Brass guard and pin for hidden tangs. Please specify

Vise

Files or grinder

Drill and bits

Pliers/tongs

A charcoal grill or similar heat source

A gallon (min.) of oil Canola, peanut, mineral etc.

An oven

Epoxy

Sandpaper

Tung or linseed oil finish

If heat treating is not possible for the DIYer, I will do it for a $25 charge which includes;

Normalizing, thermocycling, hardening and tempering. Ready for the handle.
