This beautiful personal knife is forged from half of an old file, with the teeth of the original tool visible on the side of the blade. A hamon shows the differential hardening of the steel above the polished convex edge. The guard is made of nickel silver and the collar is local Iowan Whitetail antler, above a beautiful honey colored Osage Orange wood handle. This is a graceful and slender blade with lots of utility.
The Doe and the Yearling are made to go together as a beautiful set, well suited to a young couple headed out into a wild world together. They were both forged from halves of the same file and share the nickel silver fittings, whitetail collar and osage handle, only differing slightly in form.
